Our Story

In electric subways and trains, the third rail is the one next to the train that provides the energy to move. That's what Third Rail, the band does!

The Third Rail was laid when experienced Bay Area musicians wended their ways through other situations to find each other. We found a shared passion in performing high quality, diverse party music that gets everyone on the dance floor. We've been playing our instruments since we were kids and all of us strive for high level of musicianship. Everyone in the band sings, which adds a richness and authenticity to the numbers.

Third Rail comes with our own professional PA system, including mixer and in-ear monitors (this means less unwanted stage noise bleeding into the mics and messing up the mix!), QSC speakers and that subwoofer to thump your chest. If your venue has a front-of-house system, we are also happy to jack into that too.
